Three honest notes so the desert night is what you expect. First, Sam versus Khuri: the Sam dunes are the big, popular, sometimes crowded 'tent city' scene with the most elaborate (and luxury) camps; the Khuri dunes are smaller, quieter and more low-key. Tell us which you want — romance and quiet, or the full lively camp — and we book accordingly. Second, the camel ride is short: most 'camel safaris' are a scenic 20 to 45 minutes onto the dunes for sunset, not hours in the saddle (a jeep handles the longer transfer), which is honestly plenty for most people. Third, desert nights are cold: temperatures drop sharply after dark in winter, so the bonfire is essential and you will want a jacket, even when the day was warm.
