Golden Triangle with real Ayurveda: a Vaidya consultation, Abhyanga and Shirodhara, dosha meals and spa days, plus the honest truth about detox and time.

In a Nutshell

Golden Triangle with real Ayurveda: a Vaidya consultation, Abhyanga and Shirodhara, dosha meals and spa days.

Ayurveda & Spa Golden Triangle Retreat

Experience My India's Ayurveda Golden Triangle weaves genuine Ayurvedic treatment and restorative spa time into the classic circuit: a consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic physician, an Abhyanga oil massage and the deeply calming Shirodhara, dosha-balanced meals, and unhurried recovery between the monuments. India is the birthplace of Ayurveda, so it is practised here with a depth no Western day spa can match. It runs about 8 to 12 days, private, from Rs 10,000 per person per day plus your chosen treatments. And this page is honest about the one thing that matters most: this is a genuine rejuvenation experience, not a full medical detox, which needs far more time at a dedicated retreat, and we tell you exactly where that line falls.

Why Ayurveda In India

Ayurveda, the 'science of life', is a 5,000-year-old system that treats the whole person, not just symptoms, by balancing your three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha). Practised at its source, by qualified physicians rather than spa staff, it is a considered, personalised experience: warm herbal oils chosen for your constitution, therapies that genuinely calm the nervous system, and food used as medicine. Paired with the Golden Triangle, it lets you alternate the intensity of sightseeing with real restoration, so you finish the trip better than you started it, rather than worn out.

What Genuine Ayurveda Involves

Real Ayurveda always begins with the doctor, not the massage table. The consultation. A qualified Ayurvedic physician (a Vaidya) assesses your constitution and current balance — your dosha, digestion, sleep, stress and lifestyle — then designs a personalised plan. If a place skips this and just sells massages, it is a spa, not authentic Ayurveda. Abhyanga. A full-body warm herbal-oil massage, often by two therapists in rhythm, with oils chosen for your dosha — deeply relaxing and the heart of Ayurvedic care. Shirodhara. A continuous, gentle stream of warm oil poured over the forehead — the 'bliss therapy' — renowned for calming the mind and easing stress and sleeplessness. Dosha-based meals. Vegetarian, sattvic cuisine tailored to your constitution — no alcohol, caffeine or refined sugar — because in Ayurveda, food is medicine. Yoga and meditation alongside, to support the treatments.

Honest Advice

Two honest truths, because this is where wellness tours mislead people. First, this is rejuvenation, not a full detox. A genuine deep cleanse (Panchakarma) is an intensive, physician-led medical process that needs 14 to 21 or more days at a dedicated retreat — it is not something you can do in a few days between forts. What we build into the circuit — a consultation, Abhyanga, Shirodhara, dosha meals and spa time — is genuinely restorative and wonderful, but it is a taster and a reset, not a Panchakarma. If you want the deep detox, we arrange a proper stay at a dedicated Himalayan or Kerala retreat instead. Second, not every 'Ayurveda spa' is the real thing. Many hotels offer relaxing oil massages labelled Ayurveda but without the medical consultation that defines it. We are clear about which is which: genuine, physician-led Ayurveda where you want it, quality spa relaxation where that is what you are after, and never one dressed up as the other.

Important — Health & Safety

Ayurveda is a traditional system of wellbeing, and this is a wellness and leisure trip, not medical treatment. Some therapies, Panchakarma especially, are not suitable for everyone and require a proper medical evaluation first, and a brief 'healing response' (tiredness as the body adjusts) can occur and is monitored by the physician. Please tell us and the Ayurvedic doctor about any health conditions, pregnancy or medications, and if you have a medical concern, consult your own doctor before starting any programme. We plan around what is safe and appropriate for you.

Spa or the real thing, clearly. Relaxing hotel spa where you want it, medically-grounded Ayurveda where you want that.
4
Careful with your health. We plan around your conditions and advise consulting your doctor.
5
A published cancellation policy with real numbers — the 80/50/0 slabs — and a human on WhatsApp.

Honest note

This Trip Is NOT For You If

  • You want a full Ayurvedic detox in a few days. Panchakarma needs 14 to 21+ days.
  • You want a party holiday. Genuine Ayurveda means a vegetarian, alcohol-free diet.
  • You are seeking medical treatment. This is a wellness and leisure trip, not medical care.
  • You only want fast sightseeing. The Ayurveda pace is deliberately restful.
