Eating great Indian food is wonderful. Learning to cook it is the trip that keeps giving, long after you land. This tour is built for people who want their hands in the spice tin: multiple hands-on cooking classes across Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, and dinners in local homes with the families who cook this food every day, alongside the classic icons. You learn real techniques, the tempering of spices, the balance of a good dal, the making of fresh roti, Rajasthani specialities, and go home able to recreate the flavours. Over 6 to 8 days, private, from Rs 10,000 per person per day.

What you will learn, and where

The tour threads cooking through the circuit, so you learn regional dishes in the places they come from. Delhi: the foundations, tempering (tadka), spice blends, a classic dal, fresh breads, and North Indian and Mughlai staples, often in a home kitchen with a home cook. Agra: Mughlai technique, the rich, slow-cooked curries and kebabs of the region, in the shadow of the Taj. Jaipur: Rajasthani specialities, dal baati churma, the fiery laal maas, and local sweets, plus a market walk to learn the ingredients before you cook them. Each class is hands-on, you cook, you do not just watch, and you eat what you make. A market visit before a class teaches you to shop for and recognise the spices and produce, and a home dinner lets you see a family kitchen in full flow.

The price, plainly

From Rs 10,000 per person per day (twin sharing, 4-star), about Rs 60,000 per person for six days, or from Rs 15,000 per day at 5-star. That is the standard circuit (best-reviewed hotels, a private Innova Crysta, licensed guides, monument entries); the cooking experiences layer on, each from real rates:
Cooking experienceReal cost (per person, from the rates)
Hands-on cooking classAbout Rs 2,000 to 4,000 each
Home dinner with a local familyAbout Rs 1,500 to 4,000
Market visit before a classModest, itemised on your quote
A typical tour includes2 to 3 classes plus a home dinner
So a cooking-focused trip is the standard circuit plus the classes and home meals you choose, all itemised, with 20 percent margin and 5 percent GST included. Foreign-visitor monument entries make the foreigner total a little higher than the Indian-resident price. GST applies as per the invoice.

Our promise

Why Choose Experience My India

1
Real classes, real cooks. Hands-on sessions with people who cook this food daily, in home kitchens and with local chefs, so the learning is genuine, not a tourist demo.
2
Learn the region where it belongs. Mughlai in Agra, Rajasthani in Jaipur, foundations in Delhi, taught in context.
3
Take it home. A recipe pack and the techniques to recreate the dishes, which is the whole point, the trip you keep using.
4
The quote is the price, with each class and dinner itemised, and dietary needs shaping the menu.
5
A published cancellation policy with real numbers, the 80/50/0 slabs on the Cancellation & Refund Policy page, and a human on WhatsApp, not a call centre.

Honest note

This trip is NOT for you if

  • You want to eat, not cook. The Culinary & Street-Food Tour is the tasting-led version, walks and stalls rather than classes.
  • You want fine dining above all. The Royal & Fine-Dining Gastronomy Tour centres on signature restaurants.
  • You have no interest in a hands-on kitchen. If watching a demo is enough, we can arrange that instead of full participation, but the classes are the point here.
  • You want a fast, packed itinerary. Cooking and home dinners take time; this trip is relaxed by design.
