Quick answer: Golden Triangle with Varanasi at a glance
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Price from | Rs 96,000 per person (8-day, four-star tier, twin sharing) |
| Cities | Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, then Varanasi and Sarnath |
| Duration | About 8 days, 7 nights, with two nights in Varanasi |
| The transfer we fix | Varanasi flown from Delhi (about 1.5 hours), not driven or taken by overnight train |
| Why two nights | The dawn boat and the evening Ganga aarti are separate experiences, and both are the point |
| The honest register | Varanasi is intense: open cremation at the ghats, crowds, sensory overload. Profound, not relaxing, and we brief you for it |
| The one hotel that is the experience | BrijRama Palace, an 1812 palace rising from the ghats, reached by boat, quoted as a palace upgrade |
| Same for everyone | Monument fees. The Taj costs Rs 1,100 for foreigners whatever hotel you left |
| Best season | October to March, with November and December best for the dawn river mist |
| Amber Fort | Jeep ascent, never the elephant, on welfare grounds |

How Varanasi is usually sold, and the honest version
| How it is usually sold | The honest version | |
|---|---|---|
| The register | A serene, spiritual finale to a polished trip | The rawest, most intense place on the trip: open cremation at Manikarnika Ghat, dense crowds, sensory overload. Profound, not relaxing |
| The time | One night, tacked on the end | Two nights, because the dawn boat and the evening aarti are different experiences and both are the point |
| The preparation | You arrive unbriefed and get overwhelmed | We tell you plainly what you will see, so it moves you rather than shocks you |
| Getting there | Sometimes a long drive or overnight train | Flown from Delhi, about 1.5 hours, because Varanasi is far east and the road is not worth it |
What Varanasi actually gives you
What it does not buy, and cannot change
The one hotel that is the experience
Day by day
Your route, day by day (about 8 days)
Airport pickup and hotel, with the first day kept light after a long-haul flight. The next day is a full guided tour of Old and New Delhi: Jama Masjid and a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, Raj Ghat, then Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, and a drive past India Gate and the government buildings of Lutyens' Delhi. Red Fort is closed on Mondays, so the day is sequenced around it. Overnight Delhi, two nights.

Why choose Experience My India for Varanasi
Honest note
This trip is NOT for you if
- You want a calm, easy finale. Varanasi is the opposite of a beach end. It is profound, but it is intense, and we would rather you know that now.
- You are uncomfortable around open displays of death and ritual. The cremation ghats are central to the city and unavoidable. If that is not for you, tell us and we will suggest a different extension.
- You expect a palace on the ghats at a four-star price. BrijRama Palace is a separate, higher tier; the standard tier is a good hotel near the river, and we say which is which.
- You want to drive everywhere. Varanasi is flown; the road from the Golden Triangle is not worth it.
- You want the elephant ride at Amber. We do not offer it at any tier, on welfare grounds.
Preparation
Before you go
🎒Packing List
- 1.Read our briefing on the ghats before you arrive; knowing what you will see changes the experience entirely.
- 2.Do the dawn boat; it is the quietest, most extraordinary hour in the city, and worth the early start.
- 3.See the aarti from a boat, not the crush on the steps.
- 4.Dress modestly for the temples and ghats, and ask your guide before photographing people or cremations.
- 5.Book the Taj for a non-Friday and go at sunrise.
- 6.Travel October to March, ideally November or December for the dawn river mist; avoid the April to June heat.
- 7.Cancellation follows our house slabs: 80 percent refunded more than 30 days out, 50 percent at 7 to 30 days, none under 7 days. Palace hotels and flights may carry stricter terms, disclosed in your quote.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a Golden Triangle tour with Varanasi?
From Rs 96,000 per person for about 8 days at the four-star tier, twin sharing, with a 20 percent margin and 5 percent GST already inside, and the Delhi to Varanasi flight built in. The five-star equivalent is Rs 120,000 and sees the identical sights with the same guides, so the honest difference is the hotel. The palace tier, including a BrijRama Palace night on the ghats, is quoted separately.
