Quick Answer
Where to stay in Jaipur depends on your style. The walled Pink City puts you among the palaces and bazaars; central C-Scheme and MI Road offer modern hotels near shopping and restaurants; and the outskirts hold grand palace resorts. Jaipur's special treat is sleeping in a real palace or heritage haveli, from the Rambagh Palace down.
Jaipur offers something few cities can: the chance to sleep in a real maharaja's palace. Beyond that treat, choose your area by what you want, the walled Pink City to be among the sights and bazaars, central C-Scheme and MI Road for modern hotels close to shopping and dining, the northern outskirts near Amer for palace resorts in green grounds or the southern Tonk Road for convenient, airport-friendly hotels. Pick the area and the style first, then the hotel.
I was born in Delhi and in 11 years of arranging Jaipur stays for Experience My India I have booked travelers into everything from budget guesthouses in Bani Park to suites in the Rambagh Palace, so I know which hotels suit which trips. Below are the best 4 and 5-star and heritage hotels in Jaipur, grouped by tier with approximate nightly costs, plus how to choose. One honest note on the prices: they are indicative only and swing a lot with the season, festivals and how far ahead you book, so always check live rates before you commit.

The best areas to stay in Jaipur
Choose your area by what your trip is about.
The Walled City (Pink City)
Staying inside or beside the walled Pink City puts you in the thick of it, minutes from the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and the great bazaars and it is where the atmospheric heritage havelis are. It is wonderfully central for sightseeing, as our guide to City Palace Jaipur timings and the sights shows, though the old city is busy and congested, so expect noise and traffic.
C-Scheme, MI Road and Civil Lines
Just outside the walls, the modern central districts of C-Scheme, MI Road and Civil Lines are the practical choice: leafy, well connected, close to shopping, cafes and restaurants and home to many mid-range and business hotels as well as a couple of heritage palaces. It is the easiest all-round base.
Amer and the northern outskirts
North towards Amer, in the hills and countryside, sit some of Jaipur's grandest palace resorts in quiet, green grounds. You trade being in the centre for space, luxury and calm and you are close to the Amber Fort, though a drive from the walled city.
Tonk Road and the south
South of the centre, along Tonk Road and towards the airport, are many modern hotels that are convenient for flights and offer good value, a little removed from the old city but easy for getting in and out of Jaipur.
The best 5-star and palace hotels in Jaipur
These are Jaipur's leading luxury and palace hotels, with indicative nightly rates for a standard double. Treat the prices as rough guides only; they climb steeply in the October-to-March peak, around festivals and weddings and fall in the low season.
Hotel (5-star / palace) | Area | Approx. per night |
Rambagh Palace | Bhawani Singh Road | ₹40,000 and up |
The Oberoi Rajvilas | Goner Road (outskirts) | ₹35,000 and up |
Jai Mahal Palace | Civil Lines | ₹15,000 to 25,000 |
Fairmont Jaipur | Kukas, towards Amer | ₹12,000 to 22,000 |
ITC Rajputana | Near railway station | ₹10,000 to 18,000 |
Jaipur Marriott | Ashram Marg | ₹10,000 to 18,000 |
Le Meridien Jaipur Resort | Outskirts | ₹10,000 to 18,000 |
Trident Jaipur | By Jal Mahal lake | ₹9,000 to 15,000 |
Hilton Jaipur | Amer Road | ₹8,000 to 14,000 |
Radisson Blu Jaipur | Tonk Road | ₹7,000 to 12,000 |
The palace hotels
Jaipur's crown is the Rambagh Palace, the former residence of the maharaja, now a Taj hotel of breathtaking grandeur, followed by the tented luxury of the Oberoi Rajvilas and the elegant heritage of the Jai Mahal Palace. A night in one of these is an experience in itself and the reason many honeymooners choose Jaipur, as our honeymoon Golden Triangle tour guide describes.
The other top five-star hotels
Beyond the palaces, the Fairmont Jaipur is a grand resort towards Amer, the ITC Rajputana and Jaipur Marriott are reliable city five-stars, the Le Meridien is a spa resort on the outskirts and the Trident by Jal Mahal lake, the Hilton and the Radisson Blu round out a strong field. Any of them makes a comfortable, upscale base.
The best 4-star and heritage hotels in Jaipur
For character and comfort at a gentler price, Jaipur's heritage havelis and four-star hotels are a delight, again with approximate nightly rates.
Hotel (4-star / heritage) | Area | Approx. per night |
Samode Haveli | Walled City | ₹12,000 to 20,000 |
Alsisar Haveli | Sansar Chandra Road | ₹6,000 to 10,000 |
Hotel Diggi Palace | Civil Lines | ₹5,000 to 9,000 |
Umaid Bhawan | Bani Park | ₹4,000 to 8,000 |
Lemon Tree Premier Jaipur | Near airport | ₹5,000 to 9,000 |
Park Regis Jaipur | Central | ₹5,000 to 9,000 |
The Samode Haveli is a jewel of a heritage hotel near the walled city, while Alsisar Haveli, Diggi Palace and Umaid Bhawan offer atmospheric, affordable heritage stays. For modern comfort, Lemon Tree Premier near the airport and Park Regis in the centre are dependable four-star choices. Staying in a haveli is one of the loveliest ways to experience Jaipur without a palace budget.
Which area should you choose?
It comes down to your priority. For sightseeing and atmosphere, stay in or beside the walled Pink City. For an easy, well-connected base, choose C-Scheme, MI Road or Civil Lines. For luxury and calm, pick a palace resort towards Amer. For flights and value, look at Tonk Road and the south. Whichever you choose, plan your days around it: our guide to places to visit in Jaipur and Jaipur itinerary 2-3 days show how to make the most of your stay.
Tips for booking a stay in Jaipur
Book the palace and heritage hotels well ahead, especially for the October-to-March season, the January literature festival and the wedding months, when they fill fast. The walled city is atmospheric but busy, so if you are a light sleeper consider a quieter central or outskirts hotel and drive in to the sights. Ask about fort or city views where they exist and treat at least one night in a palace or haveli as an experience worth the splurge. Our guide to the best time to visit Jaipur helps you time it and on a bigger trip it is simplest to let your tour operator book the hotel that fits your itinerary and budget.

What Our Travellers Say
Real reviews from real Travellers
“We booked our Jaipur stay through Experience My India as part of our Golden Triangle trip, and the hotel recommendation was exactly right for us. Abhay Sharma suggested a comfortable property in the C-Scheme area because we wanted easy access to Jaipur's main attractions as well as good restaurants in the evening. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well located. The private car and driver also made sightseeing much easier, especially when travelling between the Pink City and Amber Fort. The entire stay felt well planned rather than rushed.”

“Experience My India did a great job arranging our Jaipur accommodation. We specifically wanted to experience staying in a heritage property, and Abhay Sharma recommended a beautiful haveli that gave us a completely different feel from a regular modern hotel. The property had traditional architecture, a peaceful atmosphere and very helpful staff. Our driver was always punctual, and the sightseeing plan covered Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal and the local markets comfortably. It was one of the most memorable parts of our Golden Triangle holiday.”

“We were unsure whether to stay inside the Pink City or in a quieter area of Jaipur, so we asked Experience My India for advice. Abhay Sharma understood our priorities and recommended a hotel outside the busy old city, which turned out to be a great decision. We had a peaceful room, easy parking and quick access by car to the major attractions. The hotel was also close to restaurants and shopping areas. The entire Jaipur portion of our trip was handled smoothly, from hotel booking to sightseeing and transfers.”
