Match the trip to your children's ages: the honest decision table
| Your kids | Best format | Pace | Duration | Honest note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under 5 (toddlers) | Short loop or single-base with day trips | Slow; one thing a day, long naps protected | 3 to 4 days | They will not remember much; keep it short and cheap rather than ambitious. Some parents rightly wait a few years |
| 6 to 9 (primary) | Kid-friendly Golden Triangle | One major monument a day plus a hands-on activity | 5 to 6 days | This is the sweet spot: old enough to remember, young enough to be wowed by a fort |
| 10 to 13 (tweens) | Family with hands-on culture | Monuments plus crafts, cooking, a bazaar hunt | 5 to 6 days | Stories and doing beat marching; a woodblock-printing session lands harder than a fourth fort |
| 14 to 17 (teens) | Teen-friendly active Golden Triangle | Faster, with photography, food and one adventure add-on | 5 to 7 days | Give them a camera brief and a reason to engage; a phone-only teen dragged monument to monument is a hard trip |
| Mixed ages (e.g. a toddler and a teen) | Multi-age family Golden Triangle | Paced to the youngest, with optional parallel activities for the teen | 6 to 7 days | The hardest to plan; we build optional parallel activities so no one is bored or exhausted |

Why choose Experience My India for a family trip
Honest note
Family tours are NOT for you if
- You want to see everything fast with a toddler. The circuit rewards pacing; a fast trip with a small child is a hard trip, and we will recommend fewer days done well instead.
- You expect the elephant ride at Amber. We do not offer it, on welfare grounds. If that is a dealbreaker, we are honestly not your operator.
- Your teenager has zero interest and you want the trip to fix it. It can help, and our teen format is built for exactly this, but manage expectations and let us weight the photography and food elements heavier.
- You want the cheapest possible tour with no downtime. Our family value is the pacing, the pools and the age-matching, not the lowest headline price.
- You need a December booking at short notice. Peak season books out months ahead, especially family rooms.
Preparation
Before you go
🎒Packing List
- 1.Tell us the kids' ages first; everything else follows from that, including hotel room configuration and pace.
- 2.Pack for heat, early starts and pools: sunscreen, hats, refillable water, comfortable shoes, swimwear, one comfort item per child.
- 3.Bring basic medicines from home; familiar children's medication is not always easy to match locally.
- 4.Sort dietary realities in advance: North Indian kitchens handle plain food, Jain food and vegetarian days well when told ahead.
- 5.Cancellation follows our house slabs: 80 percent refunded more than 30 days out, 50 percent at 7 to 30 days, none under 7 days.
