Wildlife Photo Tour Golden Triangle | Experience My India
Honest: every guide says shoot Zone 3, and the park allots zones at random. Bean bags not tripods, 4 to 6 safaris, real camera fees. From Rs 80,000 pp.
In a Nutshell
“Experience My India runs the circuit for wildlife photographers, from Rs 80,000 per person (8-day, 4 star, twin sharing), built around four to six safaris rather than the single token drive most Golden Triangle packages bolt on. Start with the contradiction sitting at the centre of every Ranthambore photography guide on the internet.”
At a glance
Quick facts
Price from
Rs 80,000 per person (8-day, 4 star, twin sharing), permits and fees extra
Safaris
4 to 6, not 1. Fewer than 4 is a holiday with a jeep in it
The zone problem
Guides say Zone 3. The park allots zones at random. Nobody can book it
Vehicle
Private full Gypsy (6 seats). Canters are 20-seaters and hopeless for this
Where to sit
The back bench: more elevation, better side angles
Support
Bean bag on the jeep rail. Tripods do not work in a moving vehicle
Flash
Strictly prohibited at Ranthambore
Camera fees
Large-lens DSLRs indicatively Rs 250 to 600 per safari; 400mm-plus may need declaring
Sightings
Never promised. No operator can promise you a tiger
Amber Fort
Jeep ascent, never the elephant, on welfare grounds
The zone lottery, and what to do about it
Gear, for a vehicle that will not stop moving
The fees nobody mentions
Two places you control your own position
Tell the guide you are a photographer
Season, for light rather than odds
Day by day
Day by day itinerary (8 days)
Arrival. A Delhi day: Humayun's Tomb and Old Delhi if you want frames, or rest. Overnight Delhi.

Our promise
Why choose Experience My India for the wildlife photography trip
Honest note
The wildlife photography trip is NOT for you if
- You want a chosen zone. Nobody can sell you one. The allotment is random and we will not pretend otherwise.
- You want an assured tiger. No operator can promise you a tiger. We buy you shifts, not outcomes.
- You want one safari bolted onto a monument tour. That is a different trip and a cheaper one. Our 5-day circuit does it honestly.
- You want to share a Gypsy to save money. We will book it, but your elbows and your keeper rate will both suffer, and we will say so first.
- You want the elephant ride at Amber. We do not offer it, on welfare grounds. The jeep does the climb.
Preparation
Before you go
🎒Packing List
- 1.Send your gear list when you book, especially anything over 400mm, so it is declared and paid for in advance.
- 2.Bring a bean bag. It weighs nothing and it is your tripod for a week.
- 3.Tell the guide you are shooting, at every single gate. It is free and it changes where the vehicle stops.
- 4.Take insurance. Permits are non-refundable and non-transferable once issued.
- 5.Wear muted colours, khaki, olive or brown, and layers: 6 am is cold and 10 am is not.
- 6.Cancellation follows our house slabs: 80 percent refunded more than 30 days out, 50 percent at 7 to 30 days, none under 7 days. Park permits are non-refundable once issued regardless.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can you choose your safari zone at Ranthambore for photography?
No, and this is the single most misleading thing on the internet about this park. Photography guides overwhelmingly recommend Zone 3 for its lakes, ruins and mist, but the forest department allots zones at random from availability when the permit is issued, and permits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any operator promising a specific zone cannot deliver it. Buy more shifts instead: each one is another draw and another light.
