Family Wildlife Golden Triangle | Experience My India
Ranthambore and Bharatpur with children. Honest: nobody can promise you a tiger, and zones are allotted at random. From Rs 70,000 pp.
In a Nutshell
“Experience My India runs the Delhi, Agra and Jaipur circuit with wildlife built in for families, from Rs 70,000 per person (7-day, 4 star, twin sharing), pairing Ranthambore's tiger safaris with the birds of Keoladeo at Bharatpur. The single most important thing we will tell you, and we will tell your children too: nobody can promise you a tiger. Not us, not the guide, not the operator with the confident photograph.”

Details
Gypsy or Canter, with children
| Vehicle | What it is | Best for | The honest note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gypsy | Open 4x4, 6 seats plus driver and guide. Roughly Rs 2,000 to 2,500 per person | Families, and anyone with a camera | A family of 4 to 6 can fill a whole Gypsy, which means your children are among your own people rather than strangers. Reaches narrower trails |
| Canter | Open 20-seater. Roughly Rs 1,500 to 2,000 per person | Budget, larger groups | Sightings odds are much the same. But a small child must stay seated and quiet for 3 hours among 18 strangers, and one restless toddler makes it everyone's problem |

Our promise
Why choose Experience My India for the family wildlife trip
Honest note
The family wildlife trip is NOT for you if
- You want an assured tiger. No operator can promise you a tiger. If a sighting is the only acceptable outcome, a wild forest is the wrong purchase.
- Your children are under 5 and the tiger safari is the point. A 6 am open jeep for 3 hours is a poor fit. Keoladeo is the better wildlife day for them, and we will say so.
- Your dates are 1 July to 30 September and you want zones 1 to 5. They are closed for the monsoon; only zones 6 to 10 run.
- You need refundable safari permits. They are non-refundable and non-transferable once issued. That is the park's rule, not ours.
- You want the elephant ride at Amber. We do not offer it, on welfare grounds. The jeep does the climb.
Preparation
Before you go
🎒Packing List
- 1.Send passport or ID details early. Permits need every visitor's name, age and ID, children included, and foreign nationals must use a passport.
- 2.Book as early as you can, up to 90 days out; only 6 jeeps and 6 canters enter each zone per shift, so peak dates go.
- 3.Dress the children in warm layers for a winter dawn, and in muted colours, khaki, olive or brown, rather than bright ones.
- 4.Take travel insurance, because the permits will not refund a sick child.
- 5.Brief the children the night before: we are going looking, looking is the fun, and the deer and birds count.
- 6.Cancellation follows our house slabs: 80 percent refunded more than 30 days out, 50 percent at 7 to 30 days, none under 7 days. Safari permits are non-refundable once issued regardless, and are disclosed separately in your quote.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will we definitely see a tiger at Ranthambore?
No, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Ranthambore is a wild forest of ten zones and gives you a real chance, not a promise. Two safaris improve the odds over one, and March to May sees higher activity as animals visit the lakes in the heat. We plan the trip so the forest, the deer, the crocodiles and over 250 bird species make the morning worthwhile either way.
