A genuinely lower-footprint Golden Triangle: electric trains, an EV where practical, certified green hotels, plastic-free, no greenwashing or offsets.

In a Nutshell

Experience My India's eco-conscious Golden Triangle is the classic circuit done with the lowest footprint we can honestly achieve: electric trains between the cities (where transport's real carbon lives), an electric vehicle for local runs where charging genuinely supports it, certified green hotels, and a plastic-free, local-first approach throughout. It runs about 6 to 9 days, private, from Rs 10,000 per person per day.

It runs about 6 to 9 days, private, from Rs 10,000 per person per day. And because 'eco' is the most greenwashed word in travel, we are straight with you: we make real reductions, not a carbon-neutral badge, we do not sell offsets we cannot stand behind, and we tell you honestly where an EV works and where it does not. Here is what genuinely lightens your footprint.

Where the footprint actually is (and how we cut it)

Most 'eco' tours fuss over towels and skip the thing that matters: transport is by far the biggest source of a trip's carbon, so that is where we focus. Electric trains between cities. The single best move on this circuit is taking the electric expresses, the Gatimaan between Delhi and Agra, a Vande Bharat toward Jaipur, rather than flying or long car journeys. Train travel is dramatically lower-emission, and genuinely pleasant. An EV where it truly works. For city sightseeing and shorter runs we use an electric vehicle where charging is reliably available (Delhi and the cities are well served). We will be honest, though: charging outside the cities is still patchy, so on some longer rural legs an EV is not yet practical, and we will tell you rather than pretend. Stay longer, move less. Fewer, longer stays cut transport impact more than almost anything else, so we build in unhurried time rather than constant driving.

The stays, and the plastic

Genuinely green hotels. We choose properties with real, verifiable credentials, LEED certification (Delhi's ITC Maurya was the world's first LEED Platinum existing-building hotel), in-house water bottling that removes single-use plastic, solar power, rainwater harvesting and waste recycling, not places where the glass water bottle is just a prop. Plastic-free travel. Single-use plastic is the biggest waste problem at tourist sites, so we equip the trip to avoid it: a good refillable filter bottle replaces dozens of plastic ones, and we skip plastic straws, bags and printed tickets where we can. Local and low-impact by default. Farm-to-table meals, artisan-direct shopping, and walking or cycling for parts of the sightseeing, lower impact, and the more interesting way to see a place.

The honest bit: no greenwashing, no offsets we can't back

This is the heart of the page. 'Eco' and 'sustainable' are stamped on trips that change little, and we refuse to play that game. So, plainly: we make real, specific reductions, electric trains, an EV where charging genuinely exists, certified green stays, no single-use plastic, local spending, and we can tell you exactly what each one does. What we do not do is sell you a 'carbon-neutral' badge or vague offsets we cannot substantiate, or claim an EV runs the whole route when the charging network does not yet support it. A tourist trip always has some footprint; the honest goal is to make it as light as genuinely possible, and to be truthful about the limits. That candour is the difference between real eco-travel and a green sticker.

Day-by-day itinerary (sample shape)

The Golden Triangle, lightened. Days 1 to 2, Delhi. Arrival; city sightseeing by EV where practical, a certified green hotel, and a plastic-free kit for the trip. Day 3, to Agra by electric train. The Gatimaan Express to Agra; the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, on foot and unhurried. Day 4, Agra to Jaipur. Onward by train or a shared low-impact transfer; settle into a green stay. Day 5, Jaipur. Amber Fort by jeep (never elephant), the City Palace and a walking bazaar visit buying artisan-direct. Days 6 onward. A longer, slower stay rather than more driving, then a low-impact return.

Fine print

What is included, and what is not

Included

  • Electric-train tickets between cities where used
  • An EV or low-emission vehicle for local sightseeing where practical, with a careful driver
  • Certified green or genuinely eco-minded hotels with breakfast
  • A licensed guide
  • The sightseeing
  • A reusable filter water bottle
  • Tolls and taxes
  • 24x7 support

Excluded

  • Flights (which we actively help you minimise)
  • Most lunches and dinners not at the stays
  • Personal expenses
  • Carbon offsets (we do not sell these)
  • Travel insurance (recommended)
  • Tips
  • Anything not listed
Where an EV is genuinely not practical for a leg, a low-emission alternative is used and noted.

Pricing, plainly

Eco-conscious travel is priced at the standard per-day rate, from Rs 10,000 per person per day, twin sharing, with 20 percent margin and 5 percent GST included. Electric-train tickets and EV use are built in where practical and itemised; genuinely green hotels vary in price and are the main variable. Encouragingly, several eco choices, trains over flights, longer stays, local venues, are often better value, not more expensive. We quote everything transparently, and never add offset charges. GST applies as per the invoice.

Our promise

Why choose Experience My India

1
We target the real lever. Electric trains and low-emission transport, where a trip's carbon actually sits, not just token gestures.
2
Honest about the EV. We use an EV where charging genuinely supports it, and tell you plainly where it does not, rather than greenwashing the route.
3
Verifiable green stays. Certified, measurable eco-hotels, not 'prop' sustainability, and we can tell you what each one actually does.
4
No offsets, no badges we can't back. Real reductions, honestly described, with candour about the footprint that remains.
5
A published cancellation policy with real numbers, the 80/50/0 slabs on the Cancellation & Refund Policy page, and a human on WhatsApp, not a call centre.

Honest note

This trip is NOT for you if

  • You want a 'carbon-neutral' guarantee. We will not sell offsets or a neutrality badge we cannot substantiate; we make honest reductions instead.
  • You need an EV for every single leg. Charging outside the cities is still patchy, so some rural legs use a low-emission alternative, we will not pretend otherwise.
  • You want maximum speed by air. Flying between the close Golden Triangle cities is higher-emission and unnecessary; if speed is everything, this is not the tour.
  • You want only five-star chains. We favour certified green stays and local venues; for pure luxury, see our Luxury tours.
