Support real causes on the Golden Triangle: the Sheroes cafe, a street-children-led Delhi walk, women-run rickshaws. Honest give-back, not charity theatre.

In a Nutshell

Experience My India's give-back Golden Triangle weaves genuine social enterprises into the classic circuit, so your ordinary spending, a meal, a craft, a guided walk, directly funds real causes: the Sheroes Hangout cafe in Agra (run by survivors of acid attacks), a Delhi walk led by young people the Salaam Baalak Trust has supported, women-run rickshaws in Jaipur, and fair artisan cooperatives. It runs about 6 to 9 days, private, from Rs 10,000 per person per day.

And we are honest about the model: a tourist trip is not a charity, but directed spending genuinely helps, and we do it with consent and dignity, never spectacle, and we never run orphanage visits. Here is exactly how it works, and where the money goes.

The honest line

A trip is not charity; no orphanage visits; consent always

How give-back actually works here

We do not ask you to 'help the poor' or to donate to strangers. Instead, we route your ordinary trip spending, a lunch, a coffee, a handicraft, a guided walk, through social enterprises where it directly funds a genuine cause, and we show you where it goes. You get a real, often uplifting experience, and the enterprise gets sustainable income rather than one-off pity. That is the honest, dignified way to give back on a trip: not charity theatre, but conscious spending that pays for surgeries, legal aid, education and livelihoods, while you eat well, shop well and learn something real.

Where your spending goes

The Sheroes Hangout cafe, Agra (the flagship). The world's first cafe run by survivors of acid attacks, founded in 2014 by the Chhanv Foundation and its Stop Acid Attacks campaign. It runs on a pay-what-you-want basis, and profits fund survivors' reconstructive surgeries, medical care, legal aid and housing. You share a meal and chai, browse handmade crafts, and, if the women wish, hear their stories, moving, but warm and empowering, and often a trip highlight. It sits close to the Taj. A Salaam Baalak Trust walk, Delhi. A guided city walk led by young people the Trust has supported off the streets, seeing Delhi through their eyes, with the fee and any donation funding the Trust's care and education work. Crucially, this supports a child-welfare charity via its own guides, it is not orphanage tourism, which we never do. Women-run rickshaws, Jaipur. A ride with a women-driven rickshaw or taxi enterprise (such as the Pink City initiative), which puts women behind the wheel and income in their hands. Fair artisan cooperatives. Craft workshops and shops where your purchase goes to the makers, women's collectives and cooperatives that sustain traditional skills and livelihoods.

The honest bit: not charity, consent, and no orphanage visits

Three honest things that define how we do this. First, a trip is not a cure for anything. We will not oversell a lunch as life-changing charity; what it is, is sustainable, dignified support through conscious spending, real, but honest in scale. Second, consent and dignity come first, never spectacle. The Sheroes share their stories because they choose to and are proud to (they 'refuse to hide'), you meet them as equals over chai, and we always ask before you photograph anyone. This is empowerment, not a misery tour. Third, and firmly, we do not run orphanage visits or any 'voluntourism' with children. These can genuinely harm vulnerable children, and supporting a child-welfare charity by taking its adult-guided walk or donating is a completely different, and safe, thing from being placed among children. We hold that line without exception.

Day-by-day itinerary (sample shape)

The Golden Triangle with give-back woven in. Days 1 to 2, Delhi. The city's sights, plus a Salaam Baalak Trust walk led by its young guides. Day 3, to Agra. The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, and lunch at the Sheroes Hangout cafe, the trip's flagship give-back stop. Day 4, to Jaipur. Via Fatehpur Sikri; arrive in the Pink City. Day 5, Jaipur. Amber Fort and the City Palace, a ride with a women-run rickshaw enterprise, and shopping at a fair artisan cooperative. Days 6 onward. More of the circuit at a relaxed pace, or a return, having genuinely supported real causes along the way.

Pricing, plainly

The trip is priced at the standard per-day rate, from Rs 10,000 per person per day, twin sharing, with 20 percent margin and 5 percent GST included on our services. The give-back element works through your direct spending at the enterprises (the Sheroes cafe is pay-what-you-want; crafts and walk fees go to the cause), which we deliberately leave to you rather than marking up, so 100 percent reaches them. We itemise the arranged experiences in writing and can show you exactly what each enterprise does. GST applies as per the invoice.

Our promise

Why choose Experience My India

1
Real, traceable impact. We work with established enterprises (the Chhanv Foundation's Sheroes cafe, the Salaam Baalak Trust) where your spending demonstrably reaches the cause, and we show you how.
2
Honest, not charity theatre. We will not oversell a trip as a rescue mission; it is dignified, sustainable support through conscious spending, real, and truthfully framed.
3
Consent and dignity, always. Survivors and communities share on their own terms, as equals, and we never photograph without asking or turn anyone into a spectacle.
4
A firm line on child safety. No orphanage visits, no child voluntourism, ever, only support for child-welfare charities through their own guided, adult-led work.
5
A published cancellation policy with real numbers, the 80/50/0 slabs on the Cancellation & Refund Policy page, and a human on WhatsApp, not a call centre.

Honest note

This trip is NOT for you if

  • You want to 'volunteer' with children or visit an orphanage. We do not offer this, on principle, because it can harm vulnerable children; we support child-welfare charities only through their own adult-guided work.
  • You expect a trip to fix poverty. It cannot, and we will not pretend it does; this is honest, dignified support through conscious spending.
  • You want to photograph hardship as a spectacle. These visits are built on consent and equal dignity, not misery tourism.
  • You want a purely sightseeing-focused trip. If give-back does not interest you, a classic circuit fits better; this weaves social enterprises in by design.

Preparation

Before you go

  4. 4.Always ask before photographing anyone.
  5. 5.Read a little about the causes beforehand (the Chhanv Foundation and Salaam Baalak Trust) so your visit is informed.
