'Responsible travel' is one of the most abused phrases in tourism, stamped on trips that change nothing. So we will be plain about what it means here: a lighter footprint where we genuinely can achieve one, far more of your money reaching local hands (homestays, artisans, community-run cafes) rather than only big chains, and honesty about the limits instead of selling you a halo. Experience My India builds lower-impact, community-first Golden Triangle trips for travellers who want their visit to do a little good and go a little deeper, without pretending a tourist trip is a charity. Three honest routes, most running 6 to 9 days, private, quoted per group. Here is what is real, and what we will not do.

This is the most important part of the page, because the category is full of empty claims. Two honest halves. What genuinely helps. The single most powerful thing a traveller can do is direct their spending well, so we route it to local people: homestays instead of only chains, local guides and drivers fairly paid, workshops that pay artisans directly, and meals at community-run and social-enterprise places. We travel by train where it makes sense, cut single-use plastic, choose lower-impact stays, and use an electric vehicle where one is genuinely available for the route. These are honest reductions, not a carbon-neutral badge we cannot stand behind. What we will not do, on principle. We do not offer elephant rides or elephant polo (the animals are trained young by cruel methods, and we recommend the jeep at Amber Fort instead). We do not run orphanage visits or 'voluntourism' with children, which can do real harm, vulnerable children should not be a tourist attraction, and untrained visitors should never be placed with them. And we do not do poverty tourism: rural India is a place of dignity and hard work, not a spectacle to gawp at, so village visits are built on genuine welcome, fair pay and consent (always ask before photographing anyone). We would rather be honest about all this than sell you a comfortable illusion.

The circuit with a lighter footprint: lower-impact stays, an EV where practical, reduced plastic and ethically chosen activities, planned honestly around what genuinely reduces impact rather than what merely looks green. Rural & Village-Homestay Immersion. Real rural India: nights in a village homestay, a taste of farm and craft life, and time with a community away from the tourist track, with money going directly to host families, on a footing of respect and consent. Social-Impact & Give-Back Golden Triangle. Travel that backs real causes: the Sheroes Hangout cafe in Agra (run by survivors of acid attacks), fairly-run artisan cooperatives, and community-led walks, so your spending supports work that matters, transparently.

Responsible travel is priced at the standard per-day rate, from Rs 10,000 per person per day, twin sharing, with 20 percent margin and 5 percent GST included. The touring covers your car and guide, hotels or homestays with breakfast, monument entries and sightseeing; it excludes flights, most lunches and dinners not at the stays, personal expenses and travel insurance (these are not included, and are quoted or arranged separately). Homestays, community experiences and any contributions are itemised in writing, so you can see exactly what supports what, and interestingly, homestays and local venues are often better value than chain hotels. GST applies as per the invoice.
