Udaipur Honeymoon Golden Triangle | Experience My India
Honest: you cannot visit the Lake Palace unless you stay there, and Pichola is man-made and can run dry. Go before March. From Rs 80,000 pp.
In a Nutshell
“Experience My India adds Udaipur to the circuit properly, from Rs 80,000 per person (8-day, 4 star, twin sharing), with the Lake Palace quoted separately because it is a hotel rather than a sight. Two facts govern this honeymoon and neither is on the postcard.”
At a glance
Quick facts
Price from
Rs 80,000 per person (8-day, 4 star, twin sharing), Lake Palace extra
Lake Palace access
Hotel guests only, by private boat. Or a costly dinner booking
Everyone else
A public Lake Pichola boat. The facade, the sunset, the hills. Cheap and good
The lake
Man-made and monsoon-fed. In a dry season it can vanish entirely
Best for the lake
Before March. Fullest in monsoon, lowest at the end of the dry season
The palace
Built 1743 to 1746 by Maharana Jagat Singh II. 4-acre Jag Niwas Island
Rooms
About 65 rooms and 18 suites
Getting there
Fly. Udaipur is a genuine detour from the circuit, not a stop on it
Airport to jetty
About 40 to 50 minutes by car, then a 5-minute boat
Amber Fort
Jeep ascent, never the elephant, on welfare grounds
Three palaces, three seasons
The lake question, honestly
What most couples should actually do
Getting there: fly
Day by day
Day by day itinerary (8 days)
Arrival and hotel. Nothing scheduled. Overnight Delhi.

Why choose Experience My India for Udaipur
Honest note
This trip is NOT for you if
- You want to tour the Lake Palace. You cannot. Stay, dine at cost, or admire it from the water.
- Your dates are late in the dry season and the monsoon was poor. We will tell you the lake may be low or gone. That is the deal with a man-made lake.
- You want everything in one road trip. Udaipur is a real detour. Take the flight or take a different itinerary.
- You need to be able to walk out for dinner. The Lake Palace is an island of about 65 rooms. That is the appeal and the limitation, in the same sentence.
- You want the elephant ride at Amber. We do not offer it, on welfare grounds. The jeep does the climb.
Preparation
Before you go
🎒Packing List
- 1.Ask us about the last monsoon before fixing dates. It decides whether the palace floats.
- 2.Book the Lake Palace early if you want it, and consciously. One night, usually.
- 3.Take the sunset boat on your first evening. It sets up everything else.
- 4.Do not plan to walk off the island. There is no off.
- 5.Fly Jaipur to Udaipur. The road is a day you will not get back.
- 6.Cancellation follows our house slabs: 80 percent refunded more than 30 days out, 50 percent at 7 to 30 days, none under 7 days. Flights and landmark hotels follow their own, stricter terms, disclosed in your quote.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can you visit the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur without staying there?
No. The palace sits on Jag Niwas Island in Lake Pichola and the only access is a private boat from a jetty near the City Palace, which operates for hotel guests. The one exception is a dining reservation, which is expensive and must be booked in advance. Everyone else sees it from the water on a public Lake Pichola boat, which is genuinely the better-value experience and gives you the facade at sunset.
